Resource is required to be on the assignment for the required hours as specified in the job description. Forty hours per week is the expectation in the absence of specified hours. Attendance and punctuality are essential components of the position; therefore, unexcused absences and tardiness could result in dismissal. 7 - 10 years. Provides support after the solution goes live. If resources provide support from development through production, role should be chosen based on where the majority of their time is spent. Production support from this role will typically fall into the third level of support: minor enhancements, batch optimization, patches, etc. Will also have experience of supporting highly specialised technologies and / or business units
Position Summary
Ø Production application incident management:
o On-call production support (Oncall rotation approximately once in 3 weeks)
o Will be expected to identify possible production failure scenarios, triages incident and defect tickets, and communicates effectively with development and internal business operations teams.
o Takes ownership of escalations and perform trouble shooting, analysis, research and resolution.
o Works on problems of minimal-moderate scope where root cause analysis requires a review of identifiable factors from logs, traces, and other recorded data.
Ø Review production changes, setup/update monitoring for changes
o Collaborate with Development and Infrastructure teams to review the changes and setup monitoring for the new changes.
o Work with monitoring tools team to add new alerts, monitoring dashboards for new projects and initiatives.
o Work with Performance team closely and review for any performance or capacity issues.
Ø Severity 3 problem ticket tracking and closure activities
o Research root cause for Severity 3 tickets.
o Analyze production issue based on log data, information from code, backend teams
o Track tickets and work with Development teams for closure
Ø Improve application stability and reduce noise/errors
o Identifies vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement, as well as maintain metrics to help develop analysis that will drive improvement in all areas.
Ø Position warrants working after office hours/weekends on need basis. (OT Eligible)
Ø Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants.
Ø Creates and maintains system, functional and reference documentation.
Required Skills
• 2+ years experience working in distributed/ 3-tier web applications
•Hands on experience
Java knowledge, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Webservices
Web technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript, XML)
Oracle, PLSQL
Tools - Splunk, Introscope, Tealeaf, Remedy (Good to have)
UNIX command line skills
•Knowledge of Relational Database and should be proficient in writing SQL Queries
•Should be able to analyze and troubleshoot Production issues
•Knowledge of various transport protocols such as SFTP, SOAP/HTTPS
•Strong analytical skills and OOPS concepts
•Working knowledge of Ajax, JavaScript, jQuery, xml
•Experience supporting enterprise level software applications
•Ability to maintain documentation and knowledge repository
