Required Experience: 4+ years experience of editing news articles and preparing them to be published online

Description: The role will be responsible for assigning and editing high-quality articles that will be distributed. The person in this role will have experience efficiently editing, workshopping, honing, fact-checking and completing everything from long-form articles to listicles. Serving more than 822 million members worldwide with trusted and quality curated content, you will support our client in creating high-quality, informative and SEO-friendly articles. The ideal team members are proactive, motivated, detail-oriented and deadline-driven.

● Assign topics to and work with journalists to deliver high-quality, clear, thorough and informative articles about job search, career and professional topics
● Edit articles for clarity, flow, correct grammar and spelling and search engine optimization
● Make sure articles meet LinkedIn editorial guidelines
● Select images to accompany articles
● Select videos to embed into articles
● Write meta-data for the article and alt-text for images
● Write short-form share copy based on full article
● Perform checks for plagiarism
● Deliver completed article packages to the production coordinator to be posted on LinkedIn
● Complete SEO checklists to ensure high ranking by Google and other search engines
● Address feedback and concerns from the LinkedIn News team about articles
● Check authenticity of sources and interview subjects
● Ensure that completed and high-quality articles are delivered to LinkedIn News Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience with editing, copy-editing, writing and news fact checking using AP Style
● Experience working in the media industry
● Well-developed sense of urgency and follow-through
● Demonstrated capacity for critical thinking and analysis. Strong attention to detail.
● Experience selecting visuals, such as images and videos, to accompany content
● Ability to work flexibly and to exercise good judgment in a high-pressure environment
● Superior time management skills and ability to meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
● Advanced written and verbal communication skills using a variety of communication channels
● Ability to make discretionary decisions based on appropriate research with involvement as needed by key stakeholders
