Job Title: Senior Windows and VMware Systems Administrator

Job Description:

Requirements:

• Provide senior level comprehensive Windows and VMware systems administration and operations
• Ability to translate architecture and design documentation into build instructions
• Execute system builds and configuration, ensure tools and agents are working as designed, deep troubleshooting skills, preventative, corrective, and performance enhancement skills.
• Experience managing large and complex servers environments
• Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows Server, MS Clustering, and VMWare vSphere 4.x, 5.x – ESXi, vCenter administration
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, managing user accounts, security groups, service accounts, NTFS, File Share security and share permissions
• Define and implement security controls, hardening, and capabilities in operating systems, layered products, and specialty software  to achieve security goals
• Strong experience with HP Proliant server family
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly
• Strong SAN and TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP knowledge
• vbScript, Windows scripting
• Network Security, IIS, .NET programming, SQL Server, NetChk
• Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley procedures
• Experienced in EMC storage allocation
• Experience in backup, recovery and replication in low RPO/RTO environments
• Assist application teams with setup, installation, and testing of applications
• Advise, plan and define change management activities on the supported systems, including  requirements for off-hour systems maintenance work
• Interface with users and systems engineers in order to resolve technical and user problems

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills (written and oral)
• Be self motivated and customer service oriented
• Effective Time Management, Ability to provide peer training, Strong troubleshooting skills
• Seven to years experience managing and supporting Windows servers
• Five or more years experience configuring and managing storage sub-systems
• Knowledge of Linux and Unix System Administration tools and practices
• Knowledge of industry and government security standards and hardening practices
• Certification in System and/or Data Management
• Server Administration certifications for Microsoft, VMware, HP ACT
• BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience preferred
